About Juba Foundation
With over 3.8 million people displaced in Somalia. JF is removing barriers to education, protection, and oppurtunity for the next generation.
Who we are
Founded in 2004, Juba Foundation (JF) is a dedicated Somali-led, non-profit, and non-political organization committed to building hope and resilience in communities affected by crisis. Born out of compassion and necessity, JF was established by a group of Somali intellectuals in response to the escalating humanitarian challenges—including insecurity, famine, and displacement—affecting Somalia.

Our approach
We envision a world where all girls can learn and choose their own futures. We want all girls to enjoy their right to 12 years of education, setting them up to thrive in all areas of their lives.
Our values
Integrity & Accountability
We are committed to being honest, ethical, and transparent in everything we do. We take full responsibility for our actions, ensuring that resources are used effectively and for their intended purpose. We remain accountable to the communities we serve, our donors, partners, and each other.
We Connect Relief with Long-Term Development
We believe in responding to urgent needs while also paving the way for sustainable futures. By integrating emergency relief with development initiatives, we empower communities to recover, rebuild, and thrive with dignity and resilience.
We Empower Local Institutions
We support and strengthen local leadership by investing in the capacity of grassroots organizations and institutions. We believe that sustainable change comes from within, and we work to ensure that communities are equipped to take ownership of their development journey.
We Promote Equality for All
We are dedicated to inclusion and fairness, ensuring that every person—regardless of gender, age, ability, or background—has an equal opportunity to participate, contribute, and benefit from our programs. We actively challenge discrimination and inequality in all forms.
We Advocate and Build Networks
We use our voice to speak out for justice, equity, and the rights of the vulnerable. Through advocacy and strategic networking, we engage with policymakers, partners, and civil society to influence positive change and elevate the voices of the marginalized.
